For those who still wanted to enjoy the fall sunshine, Professor Jeannie Chari oversaw the Garden Walk and explained the variety of local birds to both students and members of the local community.
“I saw that there was, like, a billboard at the Valencia Campus advertising it, and my mom also saw that. She was like, ‘We should do that!’,” said Selena Valadez, a student who attended the event.
I love the Sycamores and the Toyons and the Sages,” said Susan Sutton, an event attendee.“I’m a sucker for them all.”
“It’s interesting,” said Rita Kraus, who attended the event for bird watching.
“I haven’t really done bird watching… It’s unfortunate to hear that all of the birds won’t be coming back like they used to, but it was very educational to hear about being able to spot some of them and get some statistics about what the campus has.”
