College of the Canyons has appointed Dr. Jasmine Ruys as its new Superintendent/President, subject to contract approval on April 15.

After serving as interim leader for six months, Ruys is recognized for promoting transparency, collaboration, and a positive shift in campus culture.

The Board of Trustees highlighted the strong community involvement during the selection process and expressed confidence in Ruys’ leadership as the college embarks on a new decade of growth and change.

“I am honored and humbled to be selected as the next Superintendent/President of College of the Canyons,” Ruys stated. “I look forward to collaborating with students, faculty, staff, and the community to build on the college’s solid foundation, increase opportunities for student success, and further our shared goals of innovation, equity, and excellence.”

She will officially assume the role on April 16, becoming the college’s fifth president since 1968.
