The Associated Student Government (ASG) held its second annual Town Hall Meeting in Hasley Hall, allowing College of the Canyons students to engage directly with campus administration.

Key topics discussed included campus safety and decisions regarding student housing.

As a second-year student, ASG President Harrison Kim recognizes the importance of giving college students a platform to voice their needs.

“We wanted to host events like these to bring awareness about advocacy,” said Kim.

“I’m glad to see that people came and participated, and they also understood that their responsibility is to be a part of this culture and to speak up for themselves,” said Kim.

Representatives from different clubs at the college attended, including Harlan Leon, president of the Canyons Creatives Club, who felt gratified knowing that students like him could make their voices heard.

“I want to find out as much as I can about how the school is run,” said Leon. “I think through this, I was able to do that.”

President Kim hopes future ASG leaders will carry on this event.

“I hope that the town hall goes down as a legacy project that we continue and that generations after generations of presidents after me can continue,“ said Kim.
