Blue Star Ranch is a local ranch in Santa Clarita leased by Nancy Zhe. Recently, the property owner sold the property, and everyone on the property was given a 30-day notice before leaving.

They are looking to relocate their animals and equipment to a new place.

“We’re going to have to find a new location,” said Mike Salinas, Barn Director for Blue Star Ranch. “We’ll need to pack up everything, get trailers for the horses.”

“It’s going to be a lot of work, and we’re hoping to get the help of the community,” said Salinas.

The ranch’s goal is to help those suffering from PTSD.

“We want to help veterans and first responders get help for PTSD,” said Salinas. “We do equine-assisted therapy, and it’s something different, and we hope to help those who need the help.”

This ranch holds a special place in many people’s hearts, but what does it mean to the staff?

“It means a lot to our veterans,” said Nancy Zhe, the founder of Blue Star Ranch.

“My husband’s a Vietnam veteran, so I am very familiar with the military style of life and how things go when you return from deployment,” said Nancy Zhe.

“We train people to become soldiers, send them out, and when they come back, they don’t come back the same people. The first ones to notice are spouses, especially,” said Zhe.

Blue Star Ranch has done so much for people who suffer from PTSD, and Zhe looks to continue that at a different property with her animals and therapists.
