Those pretty four-legged creatures can drool, sneeze, and expose their bellies in the cutest way. Good dogs deserve good deeds, and there are some among us who make it their mission to do good.

Fortunately, some extraordinary people dedicate their time to helping Thousands of abandoned furry creatures find their forever homes.

” [ I ] Love finding them great homes, and it’s, it’s a lot more. It’s a lot of fun, a lot of fun to work with the volunteers that they’re doing this. They’re volunteering their free time to help find animals. And I’m loving this,” said Kelsey Tarleton, Volunteer coordinator for the LA County Dept. of Animal Control.

People are looking for ways to give back and meet fun people.

“I saw some volunteers at an event in their red shirts, and they looked like they were having fun. They’re having fun,” said Renne Focht, a Castaic Animal Care Shelter volunteer.

These Pet Adoption events are a crucial part of our strategy for getting these wonderful animals seen. We have volunteers who work at the center to bring the animals to the event and also work with the public to help introduce the pets to families.

A group of volunteers is also working hard behind the scenes to promote these events and animals. Social media is so important.

“So now everyone’s on social media, and you know, we’ve got a great team of volunteers that create reels on our animals,” said Tarleton.

Great photos are so helpful in getting pets adopted. Although volunteers say some days are more complex than others, they will continue to bring their smiles, warmth and hearts to the Animal Care Center until every dog finds a home.
