Major upgrades are planned for Santa Clarita’s Old Orchard Park to update its facilities.

Originally developed in 1968, The park has been an essential gathering place for decades, creating generational memories.

“I’m actually an alumni of Hart High School back in the day, and we used to come to this park after school, and all the people would hang out there,” said Jerry Danielsen, a member of the College of the Canyons Board of Trustees.

“I imagine that still goes on, and it’s remained basically the same this whole time,” said Danielsen.

Among the plan additions are a new multisport court for different recreation activities, a pickleball court overlay on the current basketball court, ADA-compliant restroom facilities and new playground equipment with shade structures.

“This is a safe area, especially with us living across the street, but I think the renovation will be a huge uplift to the whole neighborhood,” said Christina Janu, a Santa Clarita resident visiting the park.

Be ready to grab your picnic basket; the park is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
