Santa Clarita is home to many different Mexican establishments. But which ones have the best food? The best deals? The best atmosphere? That is what we’re here to find out.
I have chosen 4 different Mexican food establishments in Santa Clarita that are close to either the Canyon Country or Valencia COC locations. I will be reviewing their menus, prices, and their online reviews to see what customers who have been there have to say.
- Ay Caramba
Although this spot has a small physical location, Ay Caramba has a big menu, ranging from the classic burrito to chef special enchiladas. The menu prices at the lowest start around $6 and their highest priced item being only $22, but with so many items on their menu they have many different choices and can accommodate those who are vegan and vegetarian.
The variety of choices and wide price range ensure your food experience there will be a great one. Rupal, who gave the restaurant five stars on Google reviews says, “Great cinnamon coffee and delicious veggie tostada salad. Really nice and friendly family owned restaurant. Looking forward to coming back to try other menu items!” Along with that review, Ay Caramba has a 4.5 out 5 stars on both Google reviews and Yelp. Their location at 18540 Via Princessa and is an 8-minute drive from the Canyon Country COC campus and is roughly a 14–18-minute drive from the Valencia COC campus.

2. La Cocina Bar & Grill
La Cocina has been around for decades and has three locations; 28076 Bouquet Canyon Rd being the closest to the Canyon Country COC campus at 11 to 14-minutes drive and the Valencia COC Campus at 9 to 12-minutes drive. This location has 4.5 out of 5 on Google reviews and a 4 out of 5 on Yelp, with many people praising the food and restaurant. With prices ranging between 5 to 20 dollars the restaurant tries their best to make sure everyone has a great time. Dzax H. on Yelp says, “Been coming here for about 8 Years Great Place another bomb joint these guys are family to me love this place.” while giving the restaurant 5 stars. Kids will be happily surprised to find a menu that includes Mexican favorites and parents will be pleased to know kids eat free on Tuesdays. Looking to embarrass the special birthday man or woman in your life? Celebrants at La Cocina get a free deep fried ice cream and plenty of fun photo ops with a huge sombrero and enthusiastically sung happy birthday song.

3. Sharky’s Woodfired Mexican Grill
Sharky’s on 24201 Valencia Blvd is closest to the Valencia COC campus being a short 5-minute drive from the campus and is a great choice for a quick nacho field trip! A 17-minute drive from the Canyon Country campus, it’s a spot that just may be worth the extra gas. Sharky’s has many good deals with their food with their prices going from 5 to 16 dollars. Known for having healthy food and a farm fresh promise, this chain restaurant really delivers. Their online rating is 50/50, their Yelp score is 3 out of 5 stars and on Google they have 4.2 out of 5 stars. “The food was great and fresh as always. But what made me get on here and leave a rating was the Customer service. The employees here are elite and Sharky’s is lucky to have them. Thank you ” Danielle L. says on her Yelp review of the restaurant.

4. Chipotle Mexican Grill
The Chipotle on 24405 Town Center Dr has many mixed reviews that make it a hit or miss choice. Based on online reviews, Chipotle has a 4 out 5 stars on Google reviews and on Yelp it has a 2.5 out of 5 stars. Sean Hunt had a good time with his Google review saying, “The staff is friendly. This location is way better than other Chipotle’s they’re not as greedy when it comes to portions but parking is kind of a problem” Chipotle has many healthy options and has a Subway style “build and add as you go” when ordering in person. Their menu does have a large range of prices; you’re going to spend around 15 dollars each visit for adults, but kids may enjoy the menu, too. Students, be aware! At certain locations students who provide ID will receive a free drink with their meals. The location is an easy 3-minute ride from the Valencia COC campus and a 16-19-minute ride from the Canyon Country COC campus.
