Imagine hearing your favorite Disney songs coming to life. A band called
The GO Jazz Presented A Century of Disney Magic at West Ranch High School
Theater.
They performed Disney classics such as Beauty and the Beast from the
1991 movie, as well as the modern classic “You Got a Friend in Me” from the
movie Toy Story.
This show was produced and directed by Brian Leff, who has
been teaching music at West Ranch High School to students since 2014.
“I love music, I love sharing my passion for music with students, and it’s super fun,” says Leff.
“We come to school and play music every day, and it’s such an incredible thing to
see the kids grow up, and I get to see them every day for 4 years, and it’s a really fun
job,” said Leff.
“Disney is celebrating their 100th anniversary this year, and I’m sure that you’ve
seen all the promos for Disney land and everything else,” says Leff.
“I thought it would be a fun fitting theme to celebrate that as well and so many great songs and arrangements for jazz bands, and we could highlight that unique year that we are celebrating for 100,” said Leff.
All of the Disney-themed performances were inspired by the celebration of
Disney’s 100th anniversary.
