The American Cancer Society hosted its annual Bark for Life event for the fight against cancer. The event honored caregiving qualities for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Activities such as musical hoops and a peanut butter licking contest allowed owners to enjoy time with their dogs.

“The American Cancer Society launched the event Bark For Life just so we can recognize and honor dogs in that capacity,” Brad Peach said. “Also, cancer is not just a human disease. Cancer does affect our dogs as well as many other animals. So it is also bringing awareness to that.”

Different vendors and businesses were able to show what they could provide to the community as well as the dogs. Each team had a goal of $50 to raise which contributed to the all end goal of raising $6000 dollars.

Cancer does not just affect humans but it affects dogs as well. The fight doesn’t end here but this is where it starts.
