A house fire on Soledad Canyon Road east of Canyon Country spread to nearby brush Monday morning, Los Angeles County fire officials confirmed.

The fire department received several 911 calls at about 9:40 a.m. for heavy smoke billowing near the 9900 block of Soledad Canyon Road.

Arriving units found a one story house fully engulfed in flames. Engine Company 132 determined the fire had spread to nearby dry brush, fire officials confirmed. In total, about 100 square feet of brush had burned.

Firefighters stopped the brush fire from progressing by 10:24 a.m.

Crews remained on scene to build containment lines around the house.
