Costumes and candy at the sheriff’s station mean The Haunted Jailhouse is back.

For over 30 years, it’s been a favorite among city traditions. It features a haunted-themed maze, costume contests, and even a dunk tank.

But among the spooky activities, the station offered a variety of booths in hopes of attracting interest and educating families about what’s new in the community and the many law enforcement groups.

According to the station, moments like these keep a positive connection between the community and the sheriff’s department.

“We don’t always get to interact with people on a great day for them,” said Deputy Rob Jensen, a spokesman for the Santa Clarita Sheriff Station.

“So, to have this opportunity to come out and do that on a day that’s fun, family-oriented, and really just kind of hospitality forward, we’re grateful, and it provides a touch point for the community,” said Jensen.
